VOTING REMINDER – ELECTION BALLOT 2025

By IWS Annual Meeting

Reminder to vote by September 7, 2025.

Officers to vote on include:

Scott Muscolo – President
Lynn McConnell – Vice President
Roy Gover – Secretary

Also Vote on 2 additional items:

  1. Change in Treasurer’s role. Due to the fact that we are unable to find a volunteer to serve as treasurer, the Board has proposed outsourcing the bookkeeping to and Dennis will oversee the reports, retaining his title as Treasurer.  This requires a by-laws change.  Please vote on this proposal.
  2. Dues increase. Expenses everywhere are rising and that includes costs incurred by IWS.  Grants to help cover shipping expenses for our traveling show are no longer available and there are several other operational expenses that have risen in price.  Therefore, in order to keep our coffers in a positive space for the foreseeable future, the board is proposing an increase to dues of $10 per year.  That would make annual dues for Active members $55.  (Average cost of 7 societies around the western states is $58.)

WORDING FOR BY-LAWS REVISIONS (in red)

TREASURER

The Treasurer shall have oversight of the financial activities, assets and financial records of the Society.  Beginning in 2026, the monthly bookkeeping activities and year-end reporting will be handled by a bookkeeper.  A bookkeeper will be hired by the Board and their work will be audited on an annual basis by the Treasurer and the Executive Members of the Board.

The Treasurer shall oversee necessary disbursements on a timely basis for the business of the Society as approved by the Board.

The Treasurer shall review monthly bookkeeping reports and present financials to the Board at monthly meetings. The Treasurer will work with the bookkeeper to prepare a year-end report for the annual membership meeting.

The Treasurer shall work with the Executive Members in preparing a proposed annual budget at the fall annual membership meeting.  Once expenses and income for the year are accounted for, a complete budget will be sent to the membership in January for final approval vote by membership.

All voting must be received by the end of the day, September 7, 2025

If you have any questions, please contact Carol HasBrouck Browning at hazzy1900@gmail.com or 864-423-2521.
