SW Watercolor Classes

By Region - Southwest, Uncategorized

The following watercolor classes were accidently omitted from the previous post for May.

Watercolor Classes with Carol HasBrouck Browning

BEGINNING CLASSES

If you or someone you know are interested in learning to paint with watercolor, come join us. As you explore the medium, you will learn about the unique aspects of watercolor and how to master the combination of paint and water. You will learn how basic techniques can be used to make striking paintings, about pigment variations and compatibility, and understand shape, color, value and composition. Most importantly, you will discover the joy of painting with watercolor.

EXPLORE PORTRAIT PAINTING CLASSES

If you think you might be interested in learning about portraits, join me in exploring how to paint faces, (including animals if there is interest). You will learn about facial planes and how faces are just shapes made from light and shadow. You will explore all the color possibilities in portrait painting, along with how background and setting can make or break a painting and how expression and mood is used to draw in the viewer. You will learn how to find a broad range of subjects that will expand your skills.

Both the Beginning and Portrait Classes are 2 1/2 hours long, usually once per month. Classes can be either one-on-one or small group of 2-3 artists. Cost $40 per class. For more information or to schedule a class contact: Carol HasBrouck Browning  –  hazzy1900@gmail.com

BIO

I have a degree in graphic design and have been painting for over 5 decades.  I worked for Albertsons, as a package designer and illustrator for 17 years. I taught drawing at Boise State.  I worked in marketing and advertising in Southern California and South Carolina.  For the past 15 years I have explored new techniques and tools, focusing on painting people and animals. I am a member of the South Carolina Watermedia Society, Watercolor Society of Oregon and a member and past president of the Idaho Watercolor Society. I am anxious to share how much fun it can be to learn and create with watercolor.
