SW Members Meet the Masters Program

By Region - Southwest, SW Members Event, SW Members Only Event

Meet the Masters has been providing engaging elementary school art lessons to schools and districts since 1985. Meet the Masters provides Standards based art curriculum.  This approach ensures students develop essential art skills while being introduced to great masters from the past and present.  A small group of volunteers are using this program to teach art to students in kindergarten through fifth grade at McMillan Elementary School in West Boise.  We give one hour of instruction each month, to each grade, throughout the school year, with the exception of January and February. The volunteers meet for a one-hour prep time each month.  Two volunteers go into the classroom, one as the instructor and another as the helper.  At McMillan Elementary and most other public elementary schools in Idaho, Meet the Masters is the only art instruction that the children receive.  Please consider joining our group as we offer one hour each month to provide art education to McMillan Elementary and possibly other schools in our valley.  Please contact Gail Greco if you have questions.
