IWS 2024 Annual Juried Exhibition

Celebrate the 2024 IWS Annual Juried Exhibition at the Water’s Edge Gallery in the Riverside Hotel, Boise, ID from May 2 through June 30.  The exhibition was juried by nationally renowned artist, Chris Stubbs. Eighty-eight paintings from all over our great state are on display, showcasing the talents of our membership. Celebrated local artists such as Joyce Green, Anne Watson Sorensen, Hugh Mossman, and many others have their work on view for purchase or pure appreciation!  You may find the original work of art that is the new centerpiece for your home while you enjoy the atmosphere of the Riverside Hotel, 2900 W Chinden Blvd in Boise.


Lynn McConnell  – Her recent painting “Griz, the Great Scot” has been accepted into the 2024 Associate Members Online Exhibition of the American  Watercolor Society.  This exhibition will be held online, on the AWS YouTube channel from June 6th through August 20, 2024.  This is an amazing honor.  To see the exhibit, go to YouTube, search for American Watercolor Society, search 2024 Associate Members Online Exhibition.  The Exhibit will be available for viewing after June 6, 2024.

Shelly Johnson will have an entry in the 14th annual Art & Soul of the Magic Valley in Twin Falls. Stop by and see “The Barrel Racer” at Middlekauff Ford at 1243 Blue Lakes Blvd N, Twin Falls. Voting for your favorites opens June 7 and closes June 29.

Teresa Heinz will be one of the 125 juried artists to participate in the First Annual Meridian Fine Arts Festival June 29th and 30th at Julius M. Kleiner Park by the Village in Meridian.  This art show is featuring both local and regional talent of fine artists and craftsmen.

Ilse Schreiner – I will be the July featured artist at St Alphonsus with 30 of my mixed water media paintings on exhibition.

Shelly Johnson will be part of Capitol Contemporary Gallery’s inaugural Artist Invitational Show from July 3 to July 27. Capitol Contemporary Gallery is located at 451 S Capitol Boulevard in Boise. Please join me at the opening reception on July 11 from 5 to 8 pm. Shelly will also have several framed paintings and one framed giclee print showing at the Riverside Hotel’s Water’s Edge Gallery for the months of July and August. The Riverside Hotel is located at 2900 W Chinden Blvd in Garden City. The Water’s Edge Gallery includes the entire first floor of the hotel. If you have not seen enough, Shelly will also start as a regular member of the Art Source Gallery as of July 1st. The Art Source Gallery is located at 1516 W Grove St in Boise and open Monday through Saturday 10 am to 6 pm.

Karen Hickman –  I am so grateful to be juried into the Art Source Gallery’s annual show with my cowboy picture At The End Of A Long Day.  Also so thankful to Juror Chris Stubbs for the opportunity to choose my painting titled Little Miss to get to travel around Idaho for the next several months. Also a huge thanks to all who made the annual awards ceremony so professional and beautifully done!

Mary Gardiner is artist of the month for July at the Water’s Edge Gallery, Riverside Hotel, Garden City. Mary’s exhibit is primarily a watercolor exhibit. Please join us for the reception when it is announced by the hotel or visit at your pleasure.

Sharon Herther – Congratulations to Sharon Herther being selected as the 2024 PLT BIG HEART Artist. She will be painting a large heart sculpture in the theme of “Conserving the Heart of Idaho.”  You can check out some of Sharon’s paintings at Gallery 55 McCall or at https://sharonherther.artcall.org/.  The completed PLT BIG HEART will be unveiled at the annual Conservation Day BBQ on June 22.

Linda Aman – Linda received an award at the IWS 2024 Annual Juried Exhbition for her painting “Dynamic Energy” and will travel through Idaho.

Jessica Bryant is teaching a one-day workshop in her Coeur d’Alene Studio on August 10 and a three-day workshop September 19-21. There’s just one spot left in September. Jessica’s work is on display in several exhibits this summer, including: the Transparent Watercolor Society of America Exhibit in Kenosha, WI; the Watercolor USA Honor Society Exhibit in Springfield, MO; and the Richeson75 International Exhibit for Landscape, Seascape, and Architecture.

Sue Johnston’s painting, Shoshone Falls has been selected to show at the Sun Valley Museum of Art  in the Idaho Rivers Exhibition from September 13 through September 28.

East Regional Exhibition at The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho (TAM): May 2nd through June 15th.

East Regional Exhibition at the Willard Art Center:  September 5th through November 10th.
