SW Members Exhibits and Workshops/Classes for January

Exhibits:

Mary Gardiner – January/February 2026 Mary Gardiner is part of a group exhibit in the Catwalk Gallery upstairs from the ballroom at the Riverside Hotel. Thank you.

Loretta Barra will be featured in Eagle Magazine’s Jan/Feb.

Scott Muscolo – Large Men with Small Brushes will showcase their work at The Garden Plaza at Valley View on 1130 North Allumbaugh Street in Boise from January 4th through the month’s end. The Large Men are Hugh Mossman, Dennis Hayzlett, Steve Gruber, Roy Gover, Don Belts, and Scott Muscolo.
They will host an opening on Wednesday, January 14 in this spacious gallery space from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  Come meet the artists, experience their varied approaches to watercolor, and enjoy light appetizers in this popular venue!

Anne Watson Sorensen is honored to be the Featured Artist at the St Luke’s Meridian Art Wall Gallery Jan 6-31st.  Visitors are warmly invited to view her work where art meets healing, reflection, and light.  Anne’s artwork is also currently on view at St Lukes Boise in the main Gallery Hall (by the pharmacy) through Jan 5.  http://www.aesorensen.com

Workshops/ Classes:

Jessica Bryant will be doing a demo for Watercolor Live. The 3-day event runs January 21-23, 2026. Use code BRYANT for a 10% discount on registration. Linda Aman – In Person Watercolor Classes– Star, Idaho. Come join us, learn the creative use of watercolor, and strengthen your paintings. Bring a painting you are working on, or Linda can provide a project. Materials are available for use in class, and you are welcome to bring your own. Master Art Classes Online Live – Linda Aman – Lessons on Zoom Tuesdays (usually every other week) Similar to in person “open paint” sessions, where you can share what you are currently creating. Email a painting in progress to Linda the day before class. You will have instruction and paint time during class. Artists learn from a wide variety of art. All the critiques and suggestions from each artist’s paintings will increase your knowledge. Tuesdays January 6^th and 20th   Price $30 per class. Times 9:00am-12:00pm or 6:00pm-9:00 (MST)   Email to register linda@amanarts.com   These are Master Level Classes on Zoom. Contact me for more information. We have a few openings. (I am looking to open a Beginners/Intermediate Level Class on-line, email me know if you are interested).

SW Members Exhibits and Workshops/Classes for December

Exhibits:

Gary Mccall – Retrospective at the Riverside. TVAA continues at the Gem Center. Christmas decorations auction at Capitol Contemporary Gallery, to support the Camp Rainbow.

Carrie Cornils – Seven pieces will be displayed upstairs at the Riverside Waters Edge Gallery for November and December. The opening reception is Friday December 5, 2025 at 5:30 – 7:30.

Ongoing class for silk scarves and glass ball ornaments available by request for one person or small groups up to three. Call or text Carrie 208-870-8788.

Mary Gardiner -donation fine art holiday ornament to benefit Camp Rainbow Gold First Thursday December 4 5-9 pm downtown Boise at Capitol Contemporary Gallery. Also, Riverside Hotel retrospective exhibit, TVAA Purple at Initial Point, and the Gem Center for the Arts Viv-ID exhibit continues. So many fun, free activities for everyone.

Connie Pepper currently has work on display at the Meridian and Boise locations of Idaho Art Gallery.  The works include prints on cards and bamboo blocks.   Single greeting cards called  “Dictionary Pages”  have gouache paintings of flowers on dictionary pages naming the artwork.  A second artwork option at the Galleries include unique flower or animal art print on bamboo blocks.  The solid 5” x 5”  blocks can be easily displayed on the wall, or stand on a table or desk.

Susan Kluksdal will be the featured artist at Eagle City Hall for the month of December.  The building is open during business hours, 9:00 to 5:00 weekdays.  Please stop by and see what I have been painting!

Mary Gardiner will have two paintings in the Viv-ID exhibit at the Gem Center for the Arts, 2417 Bank Drive, Boise, (reception announcement forthcoming) and two paintings in the PAPI exhibit at the Riverside Hotel.

Scott Muscolo -In case you missed the debut of “Large Men with Small Brushes” at the Initial Point Gallery in Meridian, do not despair! You will be able to view a slightly larger exhibit from this same motley crew at the Riverside Hotel’s Water’s Edge Gallery from November 4 to December 1.   Big time art by large men!  Please come and tell your friends!

Sue Johnston is happy to announce that her paintings, Abandoned and Ruby Mountains have been selected to show in the Friedman Memorial Airport winter exhibition in Hailey, Idaho. The opening reception is Nov 19, 5:00-7:00

Anne Watson Sorensen was thrilled to have her painting “It Takes a Village 1” be awarded the Best Watercolor at the Eagle Plein Air event in October. She is also grateful to all those who attended her October BOSCO Open Studio.  She invites everyone to attend the PAPI show at the Riverside Hotel’s River’s Edge Gallery opening on November 7th.
