How to obtain your IWS Membership Card!

By Membership

IWS Membership Card

Just a reminder, we no longer mail membership cards. To obtain yours, you must be current with your membership dues. Current members can obtain their membership card either from our website or during the online membership renewal process.

To obtain your membership card from the website, you will need to log on to your account using your username and password. Your username is your email. If you have forgotten your password, you can easily reset it from the login screen by selecting the Forgot Password link.

Once you have logged on, the menu at the top will have a Members option. Hovering over that menu option will display “My Membership Info. Need a Copy? Print Membership Card.”

Note, that for current members and those that have renewed their membership for 2026, you will see two blue “Generate Your Membership Card” options in your membership information page. The top one will be the most current, for 2026. On January 1, 2026, the option to print your 2025 membership card will be removed.

When you click on the “Generate Your Membership Card” button, an email will be sent to you with the card. You can download the attached file to your computer, copy it to your phone, or print the card using your printer. If printing to an HP printer, no scaling should be required.

If you have any questions or need any help, send me an email or contact me.

Membership Directory Update for 2026

By Membership

The membership directory will be published earlier this year to provide current board and membership information. We will be publishing the directory by the end of this month.

If you have not renewed your membership and want to be included in the directory, you must renew by the end of this week, Friday, February 13.

If you cannot remember if you have renewed for 2026, please log on to our website at www.idahowatercolorsociety.org and go to your membership record or email me to double check. I will be happy to check for you. Your username is your email. If you cannot remember your username, again, please contact me and I will let you know. Please do not create a new username as it will not link to your existing records if you have them.

Last Chance – Membership Renewals for 2026

By Membership

Dear Members,

Only four days remain to renew your membership at the current rate before they increase on January, 1, 2026.

We have close to 90 members yet to renew. Come January, I will be updating the Member list on our website and removing inactive members from all listed categories.

Between now and December 31, 2025, the fee will remain at the current rate of $45. Beginning January 1, 2026, the Active membership fee will increase to $55 as voted for in our annual meeting. If you opt to wait to renew your membership until Jan 1 or later, your membership will increase by $10.

In addition, PAPI, Plein Air Painters of Idaho, are also increasing their dues from $45 to $55, beginning January 1, 2026. Between now and December 31, 2025, you can renew your Dual membership at the current rate of $70. If you prefer to join PAPI without an IWS membership, go directly to the PAPI website.

Please note that after January 1, the Dual Membership rate will increase to $90.

To renew, logon to our website using your email as your username and your password. If you can’t remember what your password is, you can reset it on the logon page. After you login, select the “JoinIWS” option from the top menu to go to the renew form. If you can’t remember if you renewed, logon and go to the “Members” member to select to see your account and view which years you are active. If you renewed, you will see two options to print your membership card for 2025 and 2026. If you did not renew, you will only see the 2025 option to print your membership card.

We use PayPal to process payments, but you do not need a PayPal account to complete your renewal. You can pay with credit or with debit card. Our decision to process all memberships online is due to all art organizations going completely online for both membership and juried and non-juried competitions. In addition, this makes the processing of renewals and new memberships more efficient and less prone to error. We appreciate your willingness to collaborate with us in this area. Just remember to logon using your username and password before you opt to renew.

If you prefer to pay for your renewal by check, there is an option to do so, by selecting Pay by Check at the time you complete the membership renewal form online. Paying by check will delay your renewal by a week or two due to the mail and processing time, but as long as you select to Pay by Check between now and Dec 31, you will receive the current rate. Just send me an email letting me know.

IN PRAISE OF OUR HARD-WORKING VOLUNTEERS!

By All IWS Info, Membership

IN PRAISE OF OUR HARD-WORKING VOLUNTEERS!

Besides being home to some talented artists, the Idaho Watercolor Society is a great place to get honest feedback, learn new techniques and problem-solving skills, have an opportunity to interact with some amazing artists and truly fun people who are happy to share their love of painting with those around them.

We rely on our members to take up the slack and keep our organization running smoothly.  We could not survive as a state-wide organization without our wonderful volunteers.

Without them, we would struggle to maintain our membership levels and continue to grow and succeed.

That’s where you come into the picture!  We have a lot of members who are not only talented artists but also have begun retiring from long careers in careers like management, finance, fine arts, marketing and organizing shows throughout the state of Idaho.

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to fill various vital roles within our organization. Positions such as board members, treasurer, fundraisers, speakers, newsletter articles, and educational workshop coordinators are crucial for our continued success.

Moreover, we need local regional representatives to ensure that the art continues to flourish in different areas throughout Idaho. Your contributions can make a significant difference in keeping the artistic spirit alive and thriving.

We have some exciting events coming up including the Idaho Watercolor Society turning 50 YEARS OLD! We already have a committee that is working on some special events to celebrate these last 50 years

We have an immediate need for the following positions:

  • Vice President – works closely with the President to move into that position
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Membership Director – (we may have a volunteer)
  • Social Media Coordinator – (we may have a volunteer)

If you have any ideas for workshops, art shows, or new initiatives to engage our membership, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at mcconnell1106@gmail.com. Together, we can take the Idaho Watercolor Society to new heights!

All descriptions for these vacant positions are listed on our website.  Please review these and let me know if you have any questions.

IWS Membership Renewal Notice

By Membership
HERE IS YOUR ANNUAL DUES REMINDER!

Please remember that IWS memberships are based on the calendar year, so all memberships will expire on December 31st unless they are renewed. Memberships can now be renewed on the IWS web page at this link:  https://idahowatercolorsociety.org/joiniws/.

Here is the membership renewal page with key areas circled, in order to renew:

If you prefer, click here to print this screen capture to make it easier to review in order to follow the steps.

This new procedure is much easier to navigate, but remember that it will not work using your mobile phone or tablet. You must use a laptop or desktop computer.

Please be sure that if you are doing a web search for the IWS website that you are putting in the entire website address:  www.idahowatercolorsociety.org

Some search engines take you to the Facebook IWS site which is not the official IWS website and will not allow you to pay dues.  It’s very easy to “bookmark” this page on your computer so you can find it more easily.

If you prefer to mail your membership dues then you may print a hard copy of the form from the web page.  I am also happy to email you a membership form if that helps. If you have any questions please let me know.
