Canvas + Corks An Idaho Art and Wine-Tasting Event (formerly Leap Into Art)

By All IWS Info, Events

Hello!

My name is Cyndi Van Stein, I am pleased to share with you that we are hosting our 2nd annual art show to support Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel (CABI). Our first annual show, Leap Into Art, was a huge success. The upcoming show is called Canvas + Corks, and includes a ticketed event on the evening of January 30th for art collectors. Artists will be able to attend for free. It will be an evening of art, music, wine tasting and food in the rooftop room at JUMP. It should be a lot of fun.

This show is open to all Idaho Artists. The purpose is to bring together artists from various local artist organizations in one show that will benefit CABI. 80% of the sales will go to artists, with 20% retained by CABI.

It promises to be a wonderful event.  We hope your members will participate, we know you are a very talented group. We will be bringing together guests from our congregation, friends, and art collectors, so there will be buyers who have not yet been exposed to your members’ work.
I have attached a prospectus that contains all the details, and you can see the event web page here: https://www.cabi-boise.org/canvasandcorks#

Reach out if you have any questions.

Thanks so much,

Cyndi

Renewing IWS Membership on a Cell Phone or Tablet

By All IWS Info

We have had many reports from our members experiencing issues when attempting to renew their membership using their cell phone or tablets.

The IWS website is not optimized for mobile devices to be used to renew or add a new membership, therefore you must use your laptop or desktop computer. This is something we are looking into, and we will notify you of any future updates.

Password Reset Problem has been Resolved

By All IWS Info

As some of you may have experienced, the Password Reset option on the website was not working. When you opted to reset your password, the system would email you a link and selecting the link would help you reset your password, but instead it produced a time-out error.

This has been fixed now and the error does not occur.

If you have tried to reset your password and have not been successful due to this error, first go to your email and delete all the emails you received titled, “[Idaho Watercolor Society] Password Reset”. Next, go back to the Idaho Watercolor Society website and start the process over again to reset your password, follow the directions by going to your email to find the password reset link.

Terese Fandal, Gail Greco, myself, Hugh Mossman, Scott Muscolo, Ying Peng, and Elaine Tyson.

This does not include anyone who entered on MONDAY (yesterday).

One More WFWS Reminder

By WFWS

WFWS50 Entry Deadline is next Friday, October 11!

WFWS50 CAFE entry deadline is only one week away! As of October 1, only 165 artists have entered WFWS50 and only eight entries are from IWS.

Some reminders:

If accepted, your painting in the IWS Traveling Show will be back in time to ship to WFWS50.

Artwork previously entered in WFWS may be submitted again, as long as it did not get accepted into the prior exhibition. Different jurors have different criteria for judging artwork.

Minimum size is 100 square inches, or as small as 10” x 10”.

You do not have to deal with framing your painting, if accepted framing will be done by West Texas.

The West Texas Watercolor Society is hosting the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies 50th Anniversary Exhibition in Lubbock, Texas from February 1, 2025 to May 4, 2025. The show juror is Ken Call. (http://mobile.call4portraits.com/the-artist.shtml) The show venue is Museum of Texas Tech University. This show is open to watermedia artists who are members of one of the WFWS Component Societies, including IWS. Your IWS annual dues for 2025 must be paid by the WFWS entry deadline, which is October 11, 2024, or your entry will be disqualified. Please read the WFWS50 prospectus carefully and note that for WFWS50 mats must be a single white mat and a minimum of 3” on each side. Please call me if you need help with the math.

Ready to enter? The CAFE page for submitting entries for WFWS50 is now open. Click on the link below to view the prospectus and enter your paintings for consideration.
