IN PRAISE OF OUR HARD-WORKING VOLUNTEERS!

IN PRAISE OF OUR HARD-WORKING VOLUNTEERS!

Besides being home to some talented artists, the Idaho Watercolor Society is a great place to get honest feedback, learn new techniques and problem-solving skills, have an opportunity to interact with some amazing artists and truly fun people who are happy to share their love of painting with those around them.

We rely on our members to take up the slack and keep our organization running smoothly.  We could not survive as a state-wide organization without our wonderful volunteers.

Without them, we would struggle to maintain our membership levels and continue to grow and succeed.

That’s where you come into the picture!  We have a lot of members who are not only talented artists but also have begun retiring from long careers in careers like management, finance, fine arts, marketing and organizing shows throughout the state of Idaho.

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to fill various vital roles within our organization. Positions such as board members, treasurer, fundraisers, speakers, newsletter articles, and educational workshop coordinators are crucial for our continued success.

Moreover, we need local regional representatives to ensure that the art continues to flourish in different areas throughout Idaho. Your contributions can make a significant difference in keeping the artistic spirit alive and thriving.

We have some exciting events coming up including the Idaho Watercolor Society turning 50 YEARS OLD! We already have a committee that is working on some special events to celebrate these last 50 years

We have an immediate need for the following positions:

  • Vice President – works closely with the President to move into that position
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Membership Director – (we may have a volunteer)
  • Social Media Coordinator – (we may have a volunteer)

If you have any ideas for workshops, art shows, or new initiatives to engage our membership, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]. Together, we can take the Idaho Watercolor Society to new heights!

All descriptions for these vacant positions are listed on our website.  Please review these and let me know if you have any questions.

IWS Membership Renewal Notice

By Membership
HERE IS YOUR ANNUAL DUES REMINDER!

Please remember that IWS memberships are based on the calendar year, so all memberships will expire on December 31st unless they are renewed. Memberships can now be renewed on the IWS web page at this link:  https://idahowatercolorsociety.org/joiniws/.

Here is the membership renewal page with key areas circled, in order to renew:

If you prefer, click here to print this screen capture to make it easier to review in order to follow the steps.

This new procedure is much easier to navigate, but remember that it will not work using your mobile phone or tablet. You must use a laptop or desktop computer.

Please be sure that if you are doing a web search for the IWS website that you are putting in the entire website address:  www.idahowatercolorsociety.org

Some search engines take you to the Facebook IWS site which is not the official IWS website and will not allow you to pay dues.  It’s very easy to “bookmark” this page on your computer so you can find it more easily.

If you prefer to mail your membership dues then you may print a hard copy of the form from the web page.  I am also happy to email you a membership form if that helps. If you have any questions please let me know.

IWS Website Changes

By All IWS Info, Membership

With other changes for IWS this year, as noted by our president Carol in the recent newsletter, there are also changes to the website to join, renew, and manage your membership status.

Changes to the Join page have been made to make it much easier for new members to join or existing members to renew their membership.

Each member will have a record displaying their membership status, the amount paid, and when it was paid. This record will appear under the Members menu option as My Membership Info. Here, you will see your username (email), password, membership status, i.e., Renewed, New, Dual PAPI, Associate, full-time student, or Affiliate, when your membership expires, payments made, and the date it was made. You can update your membership information, such as your address, phone number, areas of interest, and experience for volunteering purposes. You can also print out an invoice of your payment to keep on hand and post it on your bulletin board as a reminder when you need to renew again!

For all members that are up to date on membership, with changes just rolled out, your record has been imported using your current email address and a global temporary password of “IWS2024”. You must access your record and change the password from the temporary global one to a unique one. Please keep track of your login and password as this will be how you track your membership status and payments.

In addition, when the member records were imported into the updated system, it generated an email with the subject line, “Your Payment Receipt to the Idaho Watercolor Society.” Rest assured, you have not been charged again, the system is trying to be helpful by letting you know that your payment is now in the new system. What you see in the email is payment information and the exact information that will be in your account online on the IWS site for you to check at any given time.

*Note – you do not have to login to use the website. The purpose of the new member Login is to only see your personal information, membership status, payment status and history.

How to Log In and change your password:

At the main IWS website, select the menu option Log In.

You will see the following form. Enter your personal email and the temporary password assigned, then click on Log in.

After selecting Log In, you will see the following main form with a new menu option My Membership Info. Select it.

Your membership information form will appear. In the following example, just the top portion of the screen is displayed showing the account menu options.

To change your password from the temporary to a permanent one, scroll all the way to the bottom of this form to select the Change Password option. Upon changing your password, save the changes and document your new password and store it in a safe place.

We are committed to assisting all members through this transition. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and seamless experience for everyone involved.
