SW Members Exhibits and Workshops/Classes for December

Exhibits:

Frankie Sims -I’d like to invite everyone to stop by the Catalyst Arts Collaborative Gallery/Gift Shop this month as i and another watercolor artist, Jessica Henry are recognized as artists of the month, part of a new program by the Cat to bring local artists to the attention of the public.  There is a special reception/open house planned for us on the first Thursday in December, the 5th, from 5 to 7pm.  Come take a look at our work, which will be offered at a special discount that night, and for most of the month. Several members of the IWS also have work at the Cat, and teach classes there. it is located at 6427 W Ustick Road, between Curtis and Cole.  Check out catalystartscollaborative.com.

Frankie Sims  – I’m thrilled to announce i have been accepted as one of the 12 artists to be an artist-of-the-month at St Alphonsus Medical Center’s Boise Campus in 2025.  My work was among that of many wonderful local artists, selected by a blind jury.  It will be a full year before my time on the art wall at St. Al’s.  No worries… i’ll be sure to remind you when the time comes!

Shelly Johnson will be showing three paintings from her urban flowers series at the Riverside Hotel in Garden City during the month of December. This show includes Riverside Hotel past and future featured artists and runs from December 6th to January 5th. The reception is on Garden City’s First Friday, December 6th.

For the fourth year in a row, Shelly will also be participating in the Annual Ornament Auction at Capitol Contemporary Gallery in Boise. Capitol Contemporary Gallery invites artists to create an art piece that doubles as a Christmas tree ornament and these are sold in a silent auction during Boise’s First Thursday on December 5th. All proceeds benefit Camp Rainbow Gold.

Pam Grant has her paintings in a miniature show at Finer Frames, in Eagle.
The show runs thru December.

Jean Ah Fong is displaying her paintings at the “Healing Wall” at  St. Alphonsus on Curtis through the month of December.  You can park as if you were going to the emergency entrance, and enter the East entrance. Paintings on the healing wall are intended to be calming and uplifting, so there won’t be any leopards!  Come and be healed!

Mary Gardiner and Gary McCall will be exhibiting watercolors . We hope you’ll join us in these activities. 1) Boise Weekly 23rd annual SILENT auction December 5-15 at Boise Brewing, 2) Original art ornament SILENT auction December 5 at Capitol Contemporary Gallery with proceeds going to Camp Rainbow Gold, 3) Water’s Edge Gallery, Riverside Hotel all 12 of the 2024 Artists of the Month.  Also, a reminder to support Full Moon Gallery in Twin Falls – Art of the Gift. Canvas + Corks An Idaho Art and Wine-Tasting Event (formerly Leap Into Art)

By All IWS Info, Events

Hello!

My name is Cyndi Van Stein, I am pleased to share with you that we are hosting our 2nd annual art show to support Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel (CABI). Our first annual show, Leap Into Art, was a huge success. The upcoming show is called Canvas + Corks, and includes a ticketed event on the evening of January 30th for art collectors. Artists will be able to attend for free. It will be an evening of art, music, wine tasting and food in the rooftop room at JUMP. It should be a lot of fun.

This show is open to all Idaho Artists. The purpose is to bring together artists from various local artist organizations in one show that will benefit CABI. 80% of the sales will go to artists, with 20% retained by CABI.

It promises to be a wonderful event.  We hope your members will participate, we know you are a very talented group. We will be bringing together guests from our congregation, friends, and art collectors, so there will be buyers who have not yet been exposed to your members’ work.
I have attached a prospectus that contains all the details, and you can see the event web page here: https://www.cabi-boise.org/canvasandcorks#

Reach out if you have any questions.

Thanks so much,

Cyndi
