Recurring events

January through April

• Membership Dues are due January 1st and must be paid prior to submitting show or workshop registrations.
• Rotunda Show at the Idaho State Capitol. Statewide open show for Active Members.
• Spring Workshop features a prominent regional artist.
• Annual Membership Exhibition open only to Active Members. Digital images and fees are typically submitted during March. Dues must be up-to-date in order to enter.

May/June

• Annual Juried Membership Exhibition and Workshops. A nationally recognized artist selects show entries from digital images, judges from paintings at the exhibition site and presents a slide presentation at the exhibition opening and reception and at the awards ceremony. Both are free to the public. The juror teaches one or two 4-day workshops; a fee is charged for the workshop.
• Annual Exhibition Traveling Show consists of 20 award-winning paintings selected by the juror for the Annual Exhibition. The show will be exhibited in regional areas from June through December.

July/August

• Paint-out and workshop, led by a regional artist, is coordinated by each society region.

September/October

• Fall Workshop provides two days with a regional instructor.
• Annual Membership Meeting. Annual report on IWS activities, finances, etc., usually held in conjunction with the Autumn Workshop.

December/January

• Regional Winter Socials – potluck and fun get-togethers. A presentation of work by the upcoming Annual Juror is shown when possible.

Miscellaneous

• Western Federation of Watercolor Societies. Annual show location and entry deadlines are decided by year’s sponsor member.
• Open Art Shows (non-juried) are held at least once a year in each region… plus various other activities. Contact regional reps or refer to the IWS newsletter or Facebook. All dues paid assure membership through end of calendar year.
