2025 Annual Capitol Rotunda Show, presented by the Idaho Watercolor Society – March 1-14
Join us for the Idaho Watercolor Society’s 41st Annual Capitol Rotunda Art Show, March 1–14, 2025, at the iconic Idaho State Capitol! Held in the awe-inspiring, historic Rotunda, this free public exhibition showcases over 70 breathtaking watercolor paintings by talented artists from across the state. Be part of the excitement by casting your vote for the Voters’ Choice Award! Your vote helps determine the prize winners AND celebrates the incredible creativity on display. Many of the paintings featured in the show are also available for purchase, making this event not only a celebration of art but also an opportunity to support local artists and shop for original artwork. IWS 2025 Annual Juried Membership Exhibition Art Call entry registration begins February 1 – March 20.

2025 IWS Annual Workshop
The 2025 IWS Annual Workshop will be June 4-6 at the Riverside Hotel. Kathleen Giles will be the instructor. The focus of the workshop includes: value and composition; unified color schemes; limit palettes and color triads; importance of grays and neutrals for depth and balance; glazing. SHOWS and EXHIBITS
Mary Gardiner is showing three paintings in the TVAA Rhythm exhibit at the Gem Center for the Arts, Boise through February. Mary has a studio nearby the exhibit and you are welcome to make arrangements to also visit her studio.
Beth Trott – There’s still time to catch Beth Trott’s Fantasy Illustrations at Catalyst Arts Collaborative before February ends! With over 15 years of experience painting interior illustrations for publications like Dungeons & Dragons, Beth’s work is bold, vibrant, and rich in storytelling. While you’re there, check out Catalyst’s lineup of art classes and browse their charming gift shop, featuring handcrafted items by local creatives! Beth is honored to be part of “Land Lines,” a group exhibition with Stephanie Inman and Antonia Hendricks at Initial Point Gallery in Meridian City Hall. Her “Walk the Lines” series will be featured in this dynamic show, with an opening reception on Tuesday, March 4th from 4:30 – 7pm. The exhibition will run through March 28th, so be sure to stop by and see it! Beth’s painting “Basque Memories” will be on display alongside 70+ other artworks in the Idaho State Capitol Rotunda from March 1st (opening at 2 PM) through March 14th.
Cherry Woodbury will be the featured artist for the month of March at the Eagle City Hall located at 660 E Civic Ln, Eagle, She will have some 20 pieces of art on display. Be sure to stop by Monday – Friday 8AM to 5PM.
Scott Muscolo is showing his painting “Still Standing” as part of the Idaho Art Gallery’s “Spirit of the West” exhibit. The show runs from Feb. 4 through Mar. 29, with an artist reception on Friday, February 28 from 4:00-8:00 PM. An open house is scheduled for Saturday, March 1 from 11:00-6:00 PM. https://idahoartgallery.
Jessica L Bryant is teaching an online workshop for Terracotta, Transforming Space: Creating Depth with Value and Color. March 6, 9am-Noon Pacific Time. $79 with lifetime access to the recording. She is also exhibiting during Western Art Week in Great Falls, MT. Her work will be in the Best of the West show, the March in Montana Auction, and in the gallery rooms for Settlers West and Coeur d’Alene Galleries. Online workshop link:
Joyce Green will have two works at the “Canvas and Corks” event at Jump January 30th, and a work in the annual IWS Rotunda exhibit, which will feature the work that was part of the American Watercolor Exhibit and Traveling Show: “March of the Mountain Waters”. She will also be a featured artist at the Riverside hotel’s River’s Edge Gallery for the months of March and April. Joyce will exhibit at the Valley View Retirement Center in March, with a reception on the 2nd Wednesday evening.
Carrie Cornils – I am proud to announce my work Fall Aspens was juried into the 2025 Sears Art Museum Annual Show and Sale in St. George, UT. Also, my work will be featured at the Riverside Gallery in March and April 2025.
Pam Grant – The Seattle Convention Center has invited Northwest Watercolor Society back for a Signature Exhibition beginning January 23, and running through July 15, 2025. Pam Grant’s art ‘Palouse 1″ is among 63 Signature and Gold Medal Fellowship members. 85 pieces to be on display in the Phyllis Lamphere Gallery on level 2 of the Arch Bldg located at 705 Pike Street, Seattle, WA. The show will also be online at www.nwws.org.

Carrie Cornils has artwork displayed at the Water’s Edge Gallery at the Riverside Hotel in March and April 2025. Her piece “The Desert Pallet” will be on display in the Rotunda show in March, and “Fall Aspens” will be on display at the Sears Art Museum in St. George UT through March 31, 2025. Frankie Sims / Heart in Art Studio Gallery has several painting on display at the Nampa Civic Center during the Up in the Air themed show by the TVAA. Frankie also has a large water color on canvas at the ID Capitol Rotunda, School of Life, which shows lots of fun, tropical fish.
Joyce Green will be one of the featured artists at the Riverside hotel’s Rivers Edge Gallery March 3rd to May 5th. There will be an opening on first Friday, March 7th 5 – 7 pm. Joyce will show about 50 works (yes 50!) related to our west at the Garden Plaza in the Valley View Retirement Center during the month of March. The Center is at 1130 North Allumbaugh in Boise off Fairview. There will be an opening reception on Wednesday March 12th from 5 to 7:30. Come!
Anne Watson Sorensen has a painting juried into the Sun Valley Airport Nov 5 – May 2025 called “Whispered Cast #2”.
